Job Description:
- Manage patient consultations following Medical Director's directives.
- Conduct initial assessments and request necessary investigations.
- Analyze test results and make diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Monitor patients and reassess to reach final diagnosis.
- Prescribe or administer therapies, medications, and specialized care.
- Explain procedures and discuss diagnostic results with patients and attendants.
- Refer patients to specialists when necessary.
- Consult with other physicians as requested.
- Perform daily rounds for inpatients and referred patients.
- Document and complete medical records in a timely manner.
- Sign and authenticate medical records/progress notes with date, time, and employee ID.
- Review and countersign notes from junior medical staff related to patients.
- Perform diagnostic or therapeutic procedures within privileged qualifications.
- Approve discharge summaries and medical reports.
- Ensure compliance with approved policies, procedures, and clinical pathways.
- Direct and coordinate activities of nursing and medical staff in patient care.
- Contribute to the development of quality improvement policies and procedures.
- Serve on departmental or hospital committees as required.
- Uphold Islamic Values and Medical Ethics in all practices.
- Take call as per hospital policy and assume Head of Department duties as needed.
- Attend Code Blue and other emergency codes as applicable.
- Provide necessary reports to the Head of the Department/Medical Director.
- Identify and transfer Medico-Legal Cases appropriately with required documentation.
- Participate in clinical and academic activities of the hospital.
- Educate patients and families on healthy lifestyles.
- Lead person-centered care initiatives within HMG.
- Train and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate trainees.
- Participate in educational activities and training programs within the department.
- Enhance patient experience with compassion, respect, and dignity.
- Perform additional tasks assigned within the realm of knowledge and abilities
Education:
Must hold a Western Board Certification (e.g., UK (CCT/CESR), Ireland (CSCST), Germany (Facharzt), Canadian, American, French, Australian, or European Board).
A minimum of 3–5 years’ post-certification experience is required, subject to SCFHS licensing standards.
Experience:
At least five (5) years of practice in his / her specialty after obtaining the higher degree in a Tertiary Care Hospital.
Subspecialty degree or structured subspecialty training preferred.
Certifications & Other Requirements:
- Post-graduate qualifications in the specialty.
- Membership, Fellowship and/or Board Certification in respective specialty.
- Relevant licensure from the country of origin, acceptable to Saudi Commission for Health Specialty and Ministry of Health.
