Job Description:

- Demonstrate advanced nursing knowledge and clinical competence in the Surgical ICU area.
- Act as an advisor and resource person within the Surgical ICU.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team while operating within the scope of Registered Nurse (RN) license to provide advanced nursing care, including leading nurse-led clinics.
- Serve as a resource for current evidence-based nursing practice information in the Surgical ICU.
- Exhibit excellent communication and collaboration skills with patients, their families, and members of the healthcare team.
- Function as a patient advocate, ensuring their rights and needs are prioritized.
- Maintain documentation and record-keeping that verifies activities in accordance with department guidelines.
- Ensure confidentiality of all records, reports, and results related to the Surgical ICU.
- Act as an expert educational resource for clinical staff and engage in teaching and mentoring of nursing and multidisciplinary teams in the Surgical ICU.
- Participate in research activities and facilitate the dissemination of relevant research findings and best practice guidelines.
- Assess patient and family educational needs and readiness to learn, as well as discharge planning needs utilizing appropriate resources.
- Demonstrate respect, compassion, and cultural sensitivity towards patients, families, and all healthcare team members.
- Advocate for excellence in patient care and uphold patient rights.
- Lead and contribute to the development of nursing initiatives or educational programs focused on enhancing patient quality and experience.
- Undertake clinical audits and research that support the advancement of knowledge and enhance nursing practice.
- Participate in Quality Improvement Projects and activities to elevate care standards.
- Maintain infection control measures within the Surgical ICU.
- Evaluate systems and programs to maximize patient outcomes and cost-effectiveness.
- Make evidence-based recommendations for changes in practice and guideline development.
- Lead the development, review, and implementation of policies, procedures, and clinical practice guidelines.
- Serve as a professional role model, consultant, and educator for peers and staff.
- Develop and maintain professional collegial networks with hospital staff, students, and faculty.
- Assume responsibility for personal actions, decisions, and behaviors in a clinical setting.
- Demonstrate initiative in performing duties with minimal supervision or guidance.
- Perform additional job-related duties as necessary.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Valid registration/ license as a Nurse Must have Nursing Specialist registration in the Saudi Council

Experience:

More than TWO (2) years recent clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse in the required unit/department.
