Job Description:
1. **Monitor Vital Signs**: Regularly assess and monitor the vital signs of critically ill or premature infants to detect any changes or signs of distress.
2. **Administer Medications**: Provide medications and treatments as prescribed by the neonatologist or pediatrician, ensuring all protocols are followed.
3. **Perform Medical Procedures**: Assist in or perform essential medical procedures such as intubation, IV insertion, and the administration of oxygen and nutritional support.
4. **Conduct Health Assessments**: Carry out thorough physical assessments of newborns to identify any abnormal conditions that require immediate intervention.
5. **Family Education and Support**: Provide emotional support and education to the families of newborns regarding their infant's condition, treatment options, and care at home after discharge.
6. **Document Care and Progress**: Accurately document each infant's symptoms, progress, treatments, and any changes in their condition to maintain proper medical records.
7. **Collaborate with Healthcare Team**: Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans for each infant.
8. **Operate Medical Equipment**: Efficiently operate and monitor specialized medical equipment used in the NICU, such as ventilators and incubators.
9. **Participate in Critical Situations**: Respond promptly to life-threatening situations and emergencies, utilizing nursing standards and protocols for treatment.
10. **Ensure Safety and Hygiene**: Maintain a clean and safe environment within the NICU by following infection control protocols and ensuring equipment is properly sanitized.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Valid registration/ license as a Nurse
Must have Nursing Specialist registration in the Saudi Council
Experience:
More than TWO (2) years recent clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse in the required unit/department.
