Job Description:
- Provide high-quality consultation services in cardiac anesthesia to patients.
- Offer consultation services to patients upon request.
- Supervise cardiac anesthesia procedures conducted by lower-grade staff physicians.
- Teach and supervise cardiac anesthesia residents in the Cardiac Anesthesia Residency Program.
- Participate in and initiate departmental teaching activities and hospital-wide educational programs.
- Engage in and initiate research activities related to cardiac anesthesia.
- Contribute to committees and administrative functions as needed.
- Maintain an updated list of privileges and work within the administrative confines of those privileges.
- Understand and adhere to all hospital policies and procedures pertinent to medical practice in the department.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and reviews within the Department of Cardiac Anesthesia.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Undertake ongoing medical education and appropriate activities for professional development.
Education:
USA: The American Board of Cardiac Anesthesia.
Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (FRCPC – Cardiac Anesthesia ).
UK and Ireland: CCT/CCST Specialist Register -Cardiac Anesthesia.
Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP -Cardiac Anesthesia ).
Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above.
Experience:
Minimum Three (3) years after board / equivalence certification in USA, Canada, Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand and France (DES).
Minimum Five (5) years after board / equivalence certification in Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, Greece and France (DIS).
