Job Description:
Clinical Responsibilities
• Direct Patient Care: Delivers high-quality medical management for all aspects of Pediatric Critical Care, adhering strictly to approved clinical privileges.
• Consultation Services: Provides expert inpatient and emergency room consultations upon request, ensuring responses are made within the timeframes established by Hospital policy.
• Medical Record Management: Ensures the accuracy, legibility, and timely completion of all medical records and documentation.
• On-Call Duties: Participates in the department's on-call rotation, maintaining availability and responding within the prescribed hospital time limits.
• Patient Flow Management: Conducts daily morning rounds to identify patients eligible for transfer or discharge; ensures that formal orders are written at least 24 hours in advance of the move.
• Specialized Assignments: Executes additional clinical duties relevant to the specialty as assigned by department leadership.
Academic Responsibilities
• Staff Supervision: Leads the orientation, bedside training, and clinical supervision of junior medical staff and trainees.
• Departmental Education: Actively participates in the department's structured educational activities and training programs.
• Professional Development: Attends national and international medical conferences to stay current with global standards.
• Continuing Education: Maintains and enhances professional knowledge by meeting all continuing education requirements.
Research Responsibilities
• Scientific Contribution: Engages in clinical, basic, and translational research projects in alignment with the Research Advisory Council Policy.
• Knowledge Advancement: Contributes to the advancement of medical knowledge to improve postgraduate education and enhance the hospital's international reputation.
Administrative Responsibilities
• Leadership Support: Undertakes administrative tasks as assigned by the Head of Section or the Department Chairman.
• Committee Participation: Serves on Departmental and Hospital committees and attends all mandatory departmental meetings and functions.
• Resource Optimization: Assists in developing and implementing practices designed to maximize the efficient use of hospital resources.
• Regulatory Compliance: Abides by Hospital and medical staff bylaws, as well as all relevant rules, regulations, and policies, staying updated on any changes.
• Operational Adherence: Follows all established Hospital Policies and Procedures.
• Staff Development: Participates in the education and training of self and colleagues as applicable to the role.
Education:
Western Board Certification / Equivalent (American, Canadian, UK CCT/CCST, etc.)
Experience:
Minimum 7 Year's Speciality Training & Experience.
